MOMO CREATES A SPECIAL TEXAS EVENT WITH THE PIRELLI GP EXPERIENCE AND PIRELLI WORLD CHALLENGE RACES AT COTA

It was a very big week for the Italian automotive accessories brand MOMO at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

It started with a special opportunity for several VIPs and media guests, who were hosted by MOMO at the Pirelli GP Experience. This saw the guests learn how to drive a Lotus Formula 1 racecar, once they were safely dressed in MOMO's range of motorsport clothing, which included the fire-retardant Pro Racer suits.

The Pirelli GP Experience is North America's only F1 Ride & Drive experience. It allows members of the public to sample the brutal acceleration and awesome cornering forces developed by the latest F1 racecars.

Based at the COTA track in Texas, remaining dates are limited this year, with availability restricted to November and December. However, anybody can sign up for the Pirelli GP Experience, with the F1 Ride costing $995, or the Ride & Drive priced at $9995, with participants getting the opportunity of a lifetime.

In addition to the F1 experience, MOMO guests also had the chance to sit alongside the 2010 and 2011 IMSA Porsche GT3 champion, Henrique Cisneros, in the Pirelli World Challenge MOMO Porsche Cup car. This was another very special encounter, with guests strapped into the passenger seat to witness what a driver sees on the famous Texas circuit.

Pirelli World Challenge Weekend

Weather played a major part in the Pirelli World Challenge race weekend at Circuit of the Americas this weekend. Conditions changed constantly, with teams and drivers having to adapt to sun, wind and finally rain in the second race.

MOMO driver Henrique Cisneros in the #30 NGT Motorsport MOMO Ferrari 458 GT3 Italia started the weekend well with 14th position on the grid after a challenging qualifying session in the GT class.

In the first race, Cisneros battled against some determined competition, making up two places in the race to finish 12th overall.

Bumped down to 18th on the grid for race two, the Miami-based driver battled in the rain to a valiant second place in race 2. 'It was a wild and edgy race in the wet,' commented Cisneros after the race, 'but it was tremendously exciting and I was delighted to be able to make up places to finish so strongly despite the slippery conditions.'

GT Cup Class Presented by MOMO

As part of its motorsport program, MOMO Automotive Accessories signed a multi-year partnership with series organizers WC Vision to become the presenting sponsor of the GT Cup class in the Pirelli World Challenge.

The class is officially titled the Pirelli World Challenge GT Cup presented by MOMO, and the new agreement includes several elements throughout the CBS Sports TV broadcast and online, including the 'MOMO Turning Point of the GT Cup Race,' which will be highlighted during Pirelli World Challenge TV broadcasts.
