Ex Jerry Seinfeld Porsche Supercar to Cross the Block at Russo and Steele Monterey! By: Russo and Steele
Scottsdale, Arizona (June 13th, 2017)
In February 2006, Porsche revealed the first generation 997 GT3, commonly now known as the 997.1 GT3. In addition to a new 415 PS (305 kW) 3.6 litre flat-six engine, the vehicle featured 'zero lift' aerodynamics, meaning the car creates only aerodynamic downforce and no grip-diminishing 'lift' upwards and away from the road surface. The vehicle made use of a modified, track oriented version of Porsche's active PASM suspension making it the first of Porsche's RS or GT3 versions to feature an electronically adjustable suspension system. A total of 917 units were sold in the United States and 46 units in Canada. This extra special example was originally purchased by comedy legend and world-renowned Porsche aficionado Jerry Seinfeld.
Following in the footsteps of such incredible road going Porsches, such as the legendary Carrera RS 2.8, the GT3 RS is essentially a street-legal, track-ready race car. Equal parts development and madness, the GT3 RS is the ultimate incarnation of the Porsche GT Series 911s. With seamless power and an 8,400-rpm redline, the GT3 RS jaunts flawlessly from 0-60 in just 4 seconds. Also featuring lightened bodywork and a widened rear end, the GT3 RS continues to capture that true 'track vibe' with special carbon fiber bucket seats, six-point harness and a rollcage.
