Paul Di Resta again in the points after win in first race

·Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) finished sixth in the second race in Budapest

·Robert Wickens (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM Mercedes me) in P8 and Gary Paffett (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM Mercedes me) in P9 also finished in the points

After his win on Saturday, Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) finished the second race at the Hungaroring in P6. In front of 39,500 spectators through the gates over the weekend, his Mercedes-AMG Motorsport DTM team-mates Robert Wickens (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM Mercedes me) and Gary Paffett (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM Mercedes me) placed eighth and ninth respectively.

Edoardo Mortara (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM BWT) in eleventh position finished just outside the Top Ten. Maro Engel (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM SILBERPFEIL Energy) booked P15 at the end of the one-hour race at the circuit not far from Budapest.

Lucas Auer (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM BWT) retired his car in the pits with a technical problem 15 minutes before the end of the race. After six of 18 races staged so far, the Austrian is in second place overall in the standings. With 69 points, he is only one point behind the leader, René Rast (Audi).

The next race weekend: The fourth race weekend of the 2017 DTM season takes place in Nuremberg in two weeks' time (30th June - 2nd July). The two races (Rounds 7 and 8) on the legendary Norisring are generally regarded as the standout fixture on the DTM calendar.

'I think we would have signed up for P6 coming into today's race. BMW obviously went for quite an aggressive strategy with Martin. But overall, I'm quite happy with P6. We had a good car in qualifying, but unfortunately, I made a mistake. After that, I had one of the best starts I've ever made. The guys also did a great pit stop. That enabled me to jump a few cars. It's been nice to score a lot of points this weekend. Now we're looking forward to the Norisring, and hopefully with good expectations.'

'That was a great job by the guys. It's so hard to overtake on this track, so actually managing to score some points here was a really good achievement. All the same, it's a pity about what happened on Saturday. If we had come away from here with a P7 and a P8, that would have been good damage limitation. We took a hit in the championship, but it was a great team effort all round to salvage something from the weekend. Gary and I were both in the points, so it was a good day for the Mercedes me team.'

'A tough race. I was always stuck in traffic. I didn't lose too many positions at the start, and then I was following a train of cars around. We lost a couple of places in the pit stop, unfortunately. I was in P11 most of the time at the back of a group of cars and following them quite comfortably. Towards the end, Rocky seemed to have some problems and I managed to pass him for P10. We subsequently gained another place thanks to Wittmann's retirement. P9 means another couple of points. It was not what we wanted really, but we couldn't do more. It's simply too difficult to overtake here.'

'That was yet another difficult race. After stalling the car at the start, I tried to make good a few positions. I eventually finished eleventh. Overall, I had promised myself that I would get more out of this weekend in Budapest. But it's all part of the learning curve. I see myself as currently facing an enormous challenge, and I'm going to keep pushing until I've overcome it. Afterwards, the satisfaction of having done it will be all the greater.'

'That wasn't the best of weekends for us, at least not in qualifying. My pace was good in the race. Many thanks to the team, who did great work, as always. Paul's win yesterday was a bit unexpected. It was fantastic. We're now looking forward to the Norisring.'

'I had some slight problems to begin with that finally got worse, which is why I parked up, to be on the safe side. I couldn't go any further. Too bad, because, going by the qualifyings yesterday and today, it looked like I might be able to at least grab a few points. I locked up a little when pitting, but that's just how it goes sometimes in motor racing. We've still got another six race weekends, so there's still everything to play for.'

'We struggled today. The initial situation after qualifying was anything but great. Then came Luggi's mistake during the pit stop, which didn't actually matter in view of his retirement. Overtaking is tricky at the Hungaroring, so there was nothing doing for the other guys.'
