 The Extreme Speed Motorsport Ferrari secured a fantastic win in the fifteenth running of the Petit Le Mans, one of the most important rounds of the American Le Mans Series, held at the Road Atlanta circuit in Georgia, USA.
Toni Vilander, teamed in the Ferrari with Scott Sharp and Johannes Van Overbeek, had already looked good in qualifying, setting the second fastest time of 1.18.729, before taking the 458 GT2 to the win, even though the final stint was run at a more sedate pace, in order to save fuel. The Finn, who is one of the most experienced endurance racing drivers, kept his cool to cross the line with just two litres left in the tank, with a thirty second advantage over the No. 3 Corvette of Garcia, Magnussen and Taylor. The Team RLL BMW M3s took third and fourth at one and two laps respectively. The Extreme Ferrari also got the better of the field in the 'Michelin Green X Challenge,' taking the prize for the fastest most fuel efficient GT car. AF Corse has already won the World Endurance Championship and the Le Mans 24 Hours and today, Ferrari secured another important result in what is the marque's most successful season sinc the Corse Clienti department was established to help private teams in the top series for closed wheel cars.
 That's it now until the American Le Mans Series 2013 season gets underway in March, with its traditional curtain raiser, the 65th running of the Sebring 12 Hours.
