BMW 328 achieves highest single vehicle sale price (£494,600) for December Auction sales
Coys rounded off a highly successful year with their final auction of 2012, 'True Greats', on December 4th, at Westminster, London, with sale results now nearing £4 million, and many new record auction prices achieved for this year in the UK.
Among the many great cars sold, Coys' wonderful BMW 328 achieved a selling price of £494,600, also selling were both their Lamborghini Miuras for £421,800 and £260,000.
Achieving a sale price for the the beautiful Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster of £433,000 and £382,600 for an extremely rare Aston Martin DB5 Vantage, to mention only a few of the many notable prices achieved.
The very sporting Bentley Mk VI Countryman Woody estate by Radford made £73,480, and the charming Talbot-Darracq offered by Coys directly from the estate of Bill Boddy sold for £18,880.
The barn discovery original Fiat 508 Mille Miglia sold to an English collector for £62,280, with the matching number original body Bentley 4 ¼ selling for £100,000.
Two final notable results were the sale of one of the finest Riley Imps offered to the market in recent times for £85,200, and a beautiful 4 ¼ Overdrive Bentley with unique continental coachwork, selling for £80,000.
In addition to the great prices for motor cars, Coys' bumper collection of rare film posters and the Keeler Collection of fine models and related automobilia achieved over £200,000, nearly 80% over estimate across the board.
Coys are delighted to end their 2012 calendar of auctions with such a highly successful sale, and look forward to what they believe will be an even better year in 2013, starting with their sports and racing car auction at the Autosport International show, the largest in Europe, on January 12th at the NEC.
