 New Manufacturers and Well-Known Names Build Strong Fan Following
The highly regarded and competitive road racing organization, GRAND-AM, returns to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for The Continental Tire Sports Car Festival, powered by Mazda featuring the Rolex Sports Car Series and the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge September 7-9.
The 2012 season will see Oryx Racing and APR Motorsport with new Audi R8 entries and AIM Autosport will field a FXDD Ferrari 458 Italia GT while other teams boast names like Earnhardt (Jeffrey), Roush (Jack Jr.) and Dempsey (Patrick) in the driver's seats.
The Rolex Sports Car Series features Daytona Prototypes and production-based GT cars running simultaneously. The Daytona Prototype (DP) category has revolutionized sports car racing with ample battles at the front of the field and close finishes in practically every race. Like the DP class that has redefined prototype racing, the GT class has done the same for high-performance, production-based sports car racing.
