2012 Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance Announces 21 classes

The 21 classes at the 20th annual Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA on September 16 will range from French curves to American muscles, according to chairman Peter Kunoth.

'While we will pay tribute to the beauty of our featured Marque, the elegant Delahaye and other classic beauties, we will also feature rugged American styles,' he stated.

The competitive classes are

6. Ford Model A

7. Pre-War Chevrolet

8. Utility Vehicles

9. Post-War French Touring

10. Post-War European Luxury

11. American Fins

13. American Muscle

14. Post-War European Sports Under 3 Liters

15. Jaguar Sports Cars XK120, 140, 150

16. Jaguar E-Type

17. Porsche 356

18. Porsche 900 Series

19. Ferrari

20. Monte Carlo Rallye Tribute

21. Motorcycles

There will also be a tribute class honoring the centennial of the Monte Carlo Rallye.

The Grand Marshals will be famed collectors Peter and Merle Mullin, owners of the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard and best of show winners at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

In addition to viewing more than 200 exhibited cars, visitors can see craftsmen at work in Restoration Alley, shop for gifts, dine in the elegant Club House, and examine show cars in the display areas.

The Concours will be preceded by an Epicurian Road Rallye on Saturday, September 15. It will start at the Rolling Hills Country Club and end at the Palos Verdes Golf Club with a helicopter golf ball drop and the Grand Marshal's Reception.

The Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance is a 501 (c) (3) charity event with proceeds benefitting the Palos Verdes Art Center's educational and community outreach programs and Palos Verdes Rotary Foundation Charities, including Harbor Area Boys & Girls Clubs.
