AMELIA DONATIONS TO CHARITIES TOP $2.2 MILLION IN 2013 Company press release.
The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance was conceived and founded in 1995 as a world class annual automotive enthusiast's event to benefit charities of Jacksonville and Florida's First Coast. It is an Amelia Concours d'Elegance tradition to make the annual donation to those charities each June.
One June 19, 2013 the Volunteers and Staff of The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance presented Community Hospice with a check for $100,000. The donation brings the Concours' total contributions to local charities to over $2.2 million.
'Our charities are the soul of the Concours,' said Bill Warner, Founder and Chairman of the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. 'To host a concours with the international reputation and stature of 'The Amelia' is extraordinarily expensive and we try to achieve consistently high standards of quality and excellence. Yet we are always aware of the charitable mission that has been the core part of 'The Amelia' since the beginning.
'Every dollar we spend must enhance, enrich or improve the quality of the show, or go to our charities. That day in June when we hand our charities the annual donation colors every decision we make. It's a substantive and meaningful way of saying 'thank you' to the people of Community Hospice, Spina Bifida of Jacksonville and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society for the vital work they do every day.'
