During the late sixties 'The Brit Phenomenon' Mini Cooper was so dominant in the small bore class of the European sedan touring championships. The Autodelta Works, Alfa Romeo GTA Juniors, were following the steps of her older sister, the 1600 GTA, that had already won the E.S.T.C. (1966-1967). The Carlo Chiti's prepared GTA Juniors had conquered the 1970 E.S.T.C.
AR-775621 was a fully developed GTA Jr. racer from Autodelta. There is a 'real story' as to how this GTA Jr. was purchased by Dick Davenport (Wichita, Kansas) in 1970. This is the first GTA Jr. with 'fat fenders' (GTMA fenders) to arrive in the USA. In the United States, in 1970, the war 'Mini vs. Alfa' had just begun. Dick became the 1971 C Sedan SCCA National Champion among a 40-car field. He successfully raced AR-775621 with her sister GTA Jr. #32 until 1974.
Jack Beck (Omaha, Nebraska) owned and raced it (1975-2005). under current 'refreshing' restoration by Roman and Robert Tucker (Attica, Michigan), this car is presented in the 1971 race form.
