For 1910, Buick introduced the Model 19 that rode on a wheelbase that measured 105-inches. It had solid axles with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and two-wheel hydraulic brakes. The engine was based on the Mode D unit from 1907 and displaced 255 cubic-inches, had overhead valves, produced 28.9 horsepower, and had four-cylinders with the cylinder block cast in pairs. There was a three-speed selective gear transmission and a cone clutch.
The Model 19 was offered in Buick Green and rode on Ivory wheels. This five-passenger touring car sold for $1,400 in 1910 and saw production levels reach 4,000.
This Buick Model 19 has been in the care of its present owner since 1994. It has been well used since that time both in touring events and car shows. It in the late 1990s, it was treated to a professional restoration that took over five-years to complete.
Between 2003 and 2005, the car was shown at numerous events. It won the Lion Award at Meadow Brook, a Blue Ribbon at bay Harbor and the Best Pre War Buick award at the Willistead Classic. From 2005 to 2006, the car covered over 2,200 miles and was shown at the Cranbrook Concours d'Elegance.
This is a well used, well maintained, well cared for Brass Era car. It has been expertly restored and given mechanical attention during its current ownership. In 2009, this Buick Model 19 was offered for sale at the Automobiles of Amelia Island Auction presented by RM Auctions. It was estimated to sell for $60,000 - $90,000. It was sold for a high bid of $83,600, including buyer's premium.
