This Record Sedan is an unrestored, original example that was first registered in France in July of 1950. From 1953 to 1961, it served with the Consulate General of France at their Denver, Colorado administrative center. The car was then transferred to Mr. Dabney Collins, a local dealer and racer, who had been servicing the car for the Consulate. In 1961, at 44,620 km, Mr. Collins sold the car to Mr. Hayes Lyon of Arvada, Colorado, and after Mr. Lyon passed away in 1971, the car rested for nearly 20 years in his widow's garage. In 1992, the current owner purchased 101035 with 46,305 km registered, and under his care, the car has been used sparingly, primarily as a wedding car and as an attraction at local charity events. Today, the odometer reads just under 47,800 km.
The six-cylinder, DOHC engine is fitted with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and produces 170 horsepower. There is a Wilson pre-selector gearbox and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
In 2011, this vehicle was offered for sale at the Amelia Island Auction presented by RM Auctions. It was estimated to sell for $50,000-$75,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $66,000 including buyer's premium.
