1966 Mercedes-Benz 230 SLThis Mercedes-Benz 230 SL is a first-series Pagoda powered by a 2306cc single overhead cam six-cylinder engine fitted with a Bosch Mechanical Fuel injection system. There is a four-speed manual gearbox with disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear.

The car was purchased on April 22nd of 1966 by Mr. Sceggel for $6,727.50. The car came finished in Light beige with a complementing Havana Brown hardtop and a parchment folding soft top. The interior is upholstered in Bronze-Brown MB-Tex, and it is fully outfitted with hardtop adornment, Phoenix whitewall tires, undercoating, factory paint protection, a heavy-duty heater, a Becker Europa radio and a removable 'kinder' seat.

After enjoying the car for many years, the car was placed in static storage where it remained undisturbed for almost a decade.

In 2005, after spending nearly four decades in the care of its original owner, the second owner purchased the car. Failing health forced the second owner to sell the car just a short time later. The car is currently in the care of its third owner.

At present, the car displays just over 71,000 original miles.

In 2012, the car was offered for sale at the Gooding & Company auction in Scottsdale, Az. It was estimated to sell for $100,000 - $140,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $74,250 inclusive of buyer's premium.
