    1939 Mercedes-Benz 290In 1939, the last year before the war intervened, Mercedes-Benz experimented with two 290 Roadsters. This 1939 one-off prototype came from the Manhiem Werks. The other came from the Sidelfingen Werks.

    This 290 Roadster was imported to the U.S. in 1954. Rumor has it that it was owned by a Luftwaffe general or his wife/mistress. As of yet, we have not confirmed this.
