Between 1995 and 2003, just 709 examples of the Bentley Azure were imported to the United States. Bentley had introduced the Azure at the Geneva Motor Show in 1995. It was a convertible version of the Continental R. It had Pininfarina styling and soon became a contemporary automotive icon for its aggressive stance and modern styling.
Powering the Azure was an overhead valve, turbocharged, V8 engine fitted with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system. The 400 horsepower was sent to the wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The Azure had four-wheel hydraulically controlled disc brakes, two doors, seating for four, and a computer-controlled automatic ride control.
Production ended in 2003 after 1,308 examples had been built. This example is finished in Ocean Mica silvery paint and complimented by a pale grey Connolly leather interior. It has just 26,300 miles from new and retains all of the original hand and road tools and owners' manuals.
In 2012, this car was offered for sale at the Amelia Island sale presented by RM Auctions. It was estimated to sell for $60,000 - $80,000 and was offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had sold for $101,750 inclusive of buyer's premium.
