    1932 Studebaker Indy RacerThis 1932 Studebaker Indy Car is one of five factory team cars which raced in 1932 and 1933. Driven in the 1932 Race by Pete Kreis, running 7th at 450 miles when a tire blew. It finished 12th while another team car finished 3rd. The engine is a 336 cubic-inch Straight 8 Studebaker President rated at 200 horsepower. Top speed is over 140 mph, which it accomplished in 1932.

    Unique Features: 85% of the mechanical parts are stock Studebaker car parts.

    Studebaker hired Herman Rigling of Indianapolis to build the frames and bodies for five cars which were assembled with Studebaker running gear and Studebaker prepared engines. The cars were tested at the Studebaker proving ground prior to being drive to Indianapolis. In 1932 the five car Studebaker team finished 3rd, 6th, 13th, 15th and 16th. In the 1933 race Studebaker powered cars finished 6th,7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 28th. This car finished 13th in 1932 and 9th in 1933.
