1912 Pierce Arrow Model 48In 1912 Pierce-Arrow was perfecting its lineup of three distinct models that would carry it nearly to the end of the decade. The 48 was the cornerstone of the selections, offering more power and size than most contemporary automobiles yet with a balance and refinement rarely seen in such a large car. Equipped with a 525 cubic-inch, 6-cylidner engine and a four-speed transmission when most competitors were 3-speeds, the 48 met few roads it could not conquer. The year 1912 also saw the introduction of standard front doors as seen on this 7 passenger Touring, Pierce-Arrow's most popular body style.
