1962 Sunbeam AlpineThis is a 1962 Rootes Sunbeam Alpine Factory Race Car. It ran the 1962 12 Hour of Sebring Race with drivers Tom Payne and Joe Sheppard in car No. 43. It completed the event, finishing 9th in class and 32nd overall. In all, Rootes sent six factory prepared Alpines to Sebring, three in 1961 and three in 1962.

though stock in appearance, these cars came with aluminum panels, column-mounted tachometers, Microcell race seats, light-weight snap-in interiors, extended range gas tanks mounted behind the seats, dual starter solenoids and fuse boxes, oil cooler, two-bladed fan, re-designated hood prop and extra welds on the cowl braces. Additional batteries were relocated in the trunk.

The 1962 factory cars were painted Seacrest Green. Restoration on this car was completed in 2009.
