1992 Allard J2X-CThis Allard J2X-C is the only example ever built. It was constructed in England in 1992 at a cost of almost 4 million U.S. Dollars. The design was revolutionary and paved the way for sports car design over the decade following its introduction. It proved to have extraordinary down-force, producing 5500 lbs. with 916 lbs. of drag at 150 mph and would have made 9778 lbs. of down-force at 200 mph. Though it had great down-force, the motor lacked sufficient horsepower to make it a truly competitive car. The car raced only one race, at Laguna Seca in 1993, where it qualified 12th and finished 9th. And, before the car was really completed, the rules for the Group C category of prototype and sports-cars changed making the car and its unique design illegal.

Peter Kitchak and toad Hall Motor Racing purchased the car in 2005 and have set about to complete the project due to the car's importance in the evolution of sports car design. The car has been completed with the assistance of RM Motorsports of Wixom, MI.

The entire tube is made of carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb, minus the gearbox sub structure, but included the FIA mandated steel roll over hoop. It has a modified Leyton-March F1 six-speed gearbox and Brembo calipers with Carbone Industries discs. The 3500cc Nicholson-McLaren Ford DFR V8 engine is naturally aspirated with four-valves per cylinder and produces 580 horsepower.
