1965 Fiat 500The Nuova 500 was introduced in 1957 and was almost always referred to by its Italian name, 'Cinquecento.' It was a very popular and affordable vehicle that could accommodate four adults or a family of five. Powering the car was a two-cylinder engine that gave the 500 a top speed of 56 mph.

Production of the 500 lasted 15 years and it went through considerable development throughout its life. Major change came in 1965 when the 500D was replaced by the 500F.

This 500F Berlina was given a complete restoration in the mid-2000s. It is finished in blue paint and has chrome trim. Power is from a two-cylinder 499.5cc engine delivering 18 horsepower. There is a 2-barrel Solex carburetor, drum brakes at all four corners, and a four-speed manual transmission.

In 2012, the car was offered for sale at the Gooding & Company auction held in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was estimated to sell for $20,000 - $30,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $30,800 inclusive of buyer's premium.
