1965 Chaparral 2The Chaparral 2 summoned the future of championship sports car racing. Jim Hall's Chaparral 2 won the 1965 12 Hours of Sebring, dominated the 1965 United States Road Racing Championship and with its unique automatic transmission, advanced aerodynamics and 415 horsepower Chevy V8 engine, changed championship sports car racing profoundly and forever. In 21 races during 1965 the Chaparral 2 won 16 and set the fastest lap in 14 races proving Hall's Chaparral 2 was well ahead of its time.
