Ferrari introduced the 400 Superamerica at the 1960 Brussels Auto Show. The chassis was based heavily on the 250 series and featured four-wheel disc brakes, a fully synchronized gearbox with overdrive and telescopic shock absorbers. It also had a larger variation of the Colombo V12 engine, displacing 4 liters, and was fitted with three Weber carburetors.
