This was the last year of the 'straight axle' or first generation (C1) Corvette. Only 10% (1532 out of 14,531) were equipped with the automatic gearbox. This was the first year for the 327 cubic-inch engine and aluminum case Power-Glide transmission. This particular car has the 327 cubic-inch engine generating 340 horsepower. The car cost $4,038 new, and they produced 14,531 units that year.

This car has had a full body-off restoration and has all matching numbers, original engine and transmission. It is a National Corvette Restorers Society TOP FLIGHT, PERFORMANCE VERIFICATION, and DUNTOV Award of Excellence. It is also an Antique Automobile Club of America National First/Senior and Bloomington Gold Awards.
