This 1986 Porsche 962 #121 was purchased by Bruce Leven for his IMSA Bayside Motor Sports Team in June of 1986. Following six races in the remainder of the 1986 IMSA season, the #121, as the Bayside Budweiser Car, won six of only eleven races entered in 1987. This record stands as the most wins in a single season of any 962 and includes its first win at the 12 Hours of Sebring driven by Bruce Leven, Jochen Mass and Bobby Rahal. Bruce Leven, Klaus Ludwig, Jochen Mass and Bobby Rahal all won races in this car during the 1987 IMSA season. This car, as the Bayside Havoline Car, followed that season by winning the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1988 for the second consecutive year with Bruce Leven, Klaus Ludwig and Hans Stuck driving, thus becoming only the second car to accomplish this feat since the first 12 Hours of Sebring in 1952. Drivers during this wonderful career include: Bill Adam, Paola Barilla, Dominic Dobson, Rob Dyson, A.J. Foyt, Hurley Haywood, David Hobbs, Bruce Leven, Steve Millen, John Paul, Jr., Bobby Rahal, Danny Sullivan and the late Bob Wollek.
Kurt Hoffman of Hoffman Vintage Racing completed a thorough ground-up restoration for the current owner. He also tanks Alwin Springer, Eric Bloss and the staff at Porsche Motorsports North America who rebuilt the engine and drive train for the #121.Also photographed at :
