1968 AMC AMXThe original AMX was a two-seat sports sedan that was produced between 1968 and 1971, designed to compete with the popular Chevrolet Corvette. In 1968, American Motors produced 53 Super Stock cars with Hurst chassis performance equipment from Detroit Metro dealers as promotional cars. Power was from a 390 cubic-inch cross-ram dual-quad engine and ran 9.98 at 141 mph at Milan Dragway. The owners of this car have been its caretakers since 1972.
