Al 'Papagallo' Williams, famed restaurateur and former owner of the Papagallo Room of the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, drew up his wishes and sent the order to Ghia, of Turin, Italy. The result was a 1900 Alfa with a gleaming metallic gray, hand-crafted aluminum body with a red leather interior. He included specifications for a back seat for his Great Dane, which still exists today. When the car was introduced at the 1955 Los Angeles International Motor Review, it was considered the most beautiful car in the show.Also photographed at :
