1972 Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato 1600This 1972 Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato 1600 is one of 402 produced with the 1.6-liter (1,570 cc) twin overhead cam, all-alloy, four-cylinder, hemi head engine fed by twin side-draft Weber carburetors coupled to a five-speed transmission. 1,108 were produced with the 1.3-liter engine. The 1.6 liter engine produces 109 horsepower and is capable of a top speed of 118 mph. It weighs 2,095 pounds and sold for $4,505 in 1972.

Unlike most Zagato-bodied Alfa Romeos, Junior Zagatos were produced with steel bodies rather than aluminum. The car is equipped with an aluminum hood, power windows and a custom interior. The Junior Z was not imported to the United States. This car is believed to have been originally sold in France and was later imported to Holland where it was restored in the late 1990s. In the fall of 1998, the present owner imported the vehicle to the United States.
