In 1993 and 1994, there were 930 examples of the Carrera 2 964 variant produced, with 427 coming to the United States. The 964 Series Speedster was the last air-cooled 911, and arguably the best. This example was fitted with some unusual features, such as its Indian Red color, a $2,000 option over the standard Guards Red, Black or White. The interior is a red tartan cloth. It has an improved windshield frame, which eliminates creaking and leaking, a smoother fiberglass cover and an improved soft top, which can be raised.
The car has only 11,200 miles and has a full tool kit. It is equipped with air-conditioning and sports a RUF front spoiler and Boxter roll bar/wind deflector. It has been fitted with a modern Nakamichi CD-400 stereo and CD player. With its 247 horsepower engine, the car can race from 0-to-60 in just 5.7 seconds and can pull .9G in the corners.
In 2011, the car was offered for sale at RM Auctions' Arizona sale where it was estimated to sell for $75,000 - $85,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $71,500 including buyer's premium.
