This Ghia-bodied Delahaye was specially ordered by its first owner. The car was designed by Felice Mario Boano. Incorporated into the designs are wide oval grille openings and streamlined wheel fairings which conceal the wheels, but can be hinged up out of the way. This Delahye is one of the last to be built by this great French Company. In 1953, Monsieur Charles, the patriarch of the Delahaye Company, was getting old and time was running against him. With the abrupt suspension of production of the Delage (which Delahaye had acquired), the end was in sight for Delahaye. In 1954, Delahaye was acquired by Hotchkiss.
