1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe Convertible

As Plymouth was focusing its efforts on creating new post-war models for 1949, the 1948 models remained largely unchanged, as they had since 1946. Over the year, numerous small changes were undertaken, yet the body, trim, and mechanical specifications remained essentially the same as in the previous season.

During the year, Plymouth recorded sales of 378,048 cars.

This Special DeLuxe Convertible is believed to have spent much of its life in California. It is finished in Charlotte Ivory and has a red leather interior, an upgrade over the original interior, and a new cloth top and trunk liner. Accessories found on this car include an AM radio, a heater, overdrive, and wide whitewall tires. Power is from an L-head inline six cylinder engine displacing 217.8 cubic-inches and offering nearly 100 horsepower. There is a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive and four-wheel drum brakes.
