1977 Brabham BT45 Race Car

After the 1975 World Championship for Marques with the Tipo 33 TT12 winning seven races of the eight races, an agreement was reached with the Brabham Martini Racing Team. Alfa Romeo supplied the 12-cylinder engines from the 33. Modifications were necessary as the engine was a load bearing component in the monocoque of the BT45. Over the years, the team took on a number of top class drivers including Carlos Pace, John Watson, Hans-Joachim Stuck and World Champion Niki Lauda who won two races in 1978. This example is a BT 45B, used as a reserve car during the 1977 season.
