1925 Jordan Motor Great Line Eight Touring

The Jordan Motor Car Company was founded in 1916 in Cleveland, Ohio by Edward S. 'Ned' Jordan, a former advertising executive. They produced what were known as 'assembled cars' until 1931, using components from a variety of manufacturers. They were especially known for their attractive styling, and they also brought their share of innovations to the market.

Jordan may be most remembered for their creative advertising. It was often considerably more original than the cars themselves. 'Somewhere west of Laramie' was a favorite. Featuring 'a bronco-busting, steer roping girl who knows what I'm talking about. She can tell what a sassy pony, that's a cross between greased lighting and the place where it hits, can do with eleven hundred pounds of steel and action when he's going high, wide and handsome.'

Jordan Motor Car established its plant east of downtown Cleveland. This provided an ideal location for shipping their finished cars and also provided Jordan with ready access to out of area suppliers. In their first year of production (1916), Jordan sold over one thousand vehicles.

This particular 1925 Jordan Great Line 8 touring car is the only known example. It has been meticulously restored to its original as-delivered condition. It is a prime example of a Jordan that was personally designed by Edward Jordan, often called the father of modern day automobile advertising.
