1986 Porsche 911 Cabriolet

The Porsche 911 arrived in 1964 and served as a replacement for the 356. The first 911 Convertible body style had been the Targa model of 1965. It was a design that was chosen due to features that a genuine soft-top would not comply with U.S. Federal safety regulations. By 1981 the company felt able to proceed with the genuine article. In 1982, it was introduced in normally aspirated 3.0-liter form. The cabriolet bodystyle lost little - if any - rigidity with the deletion of the Targa roll-over bar.

In 1984, the 'Carrera' name was applied to all 911 models, which coincided with the introduction of the 3.2-liter engine. This was not just an enlargement of the displacement size, but a new power unit that was extensively revised and now offered 231 horsepower, an increase of 27 horsepower over its predecessor. The 911 Carrera had a top speed of 152 mph.

The Carrera 3.2 is the last 911 to feature Fuchs alloy wheels, which had been first seen on the 911 S of 1966.

1986 was the last year for the '915' 5-speed gearbox. It was also the first year for the new air-conditioning system and the second year for the re-designed front seats in the 911 series.

This particular example is finished in Gran Prix white with burgundy leather interior. It has the optional sports seats, the original tool kit, jack spare tire, air compressor, and cruise control. It is a one owner car that has been driven just 4,068 miles from new. It has a factory rear whale tail, front chin spoiler, and Fuchs wheels.
