In 1880, Heinrich Kleyer founded a bicycle business and by 1900 he moved to automobiles. By 1928, Adler employed 6,000 people and was making 60 cars a day in addition to commercial vehicles and bicycles. Adler was Germany's third largest car maker after Opel and BMW. Adler introduced the Trumpf in 1932. The Trumpf Junior is a smaller version and was made until 1941. Power is from a four-cylinder engine that displaced
995 cc and produced 30 horsepower. The top speed was 60 miles per hour.
