This 1965 Ford Mustang GT Fastback was offered for sale at the 2007 RM Auctions held in Amelia Island, Florida. The car was offered without reserve and estimated to sell between $50,000 - $60,000. It is powered by a 289 cubic-inch V8 engine with four-barrel Autolite C6 4100 carburetor capable of producing 225 horsepower. There is an automatic C-6 gearbox and disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear. There is a factory AM radio, factory console, power steering, and air conditioning. The car is finished in Ivy Green with a black interior and correct Pony vinyl, fold down seats, door panels, and carpets. A restoration was undertaken on this car, and it was brought back to concours quality. This GT package car has the correct dual exhaust hangers, 1965 steering wheels, correct 6.95x14 Goodyear dual Redline tires, and a spare in the trunk.
At auction, the quality of the restoration was rewarded as the bidding reached $49,500 and the car was sold. | |
