This Jaguar D-Type (XKD530) was first owned by Curt Lincoln in Finland and raced by him and Timo Makinen on the ice with special spiked tires. In 1960 it was re-engined by Jaguar to the 3.4-liter specifications, and it raced and won the Leningrad Grand Prix in 1961. It was sold in 1966, and then its body was put into storage and the running gear used to build another D-Type special. After many years, the current owner rescued all the original parts and has re-built this important Jaguar to its former racing specification. For the first time since the 1960s the XKD530 monocoque has been re-united with its original engine and transmission and is restored to its former glory. | |
