This car was purchased new by Kenneth Merrill of Merrill & Stevens Yacht Co of Jacksonville, Fl. After an accident in 1947, the car was rebodied from the original ash wood to a solid teak body at the Merrill & Stevens yard. Repairs as needed were recorded on the firewall, including an engine rebuild in 1962.

In 1968, the car was sold to Jim Maggard of Lake Wales, FL., who drove it only 50 miles during the 23 years it was stored.

The present owner traded a 1939 Lincoln Zephyr coupe for the Packard in 1991. The car has been driven extensively since traveling from Northern Vermont to Oscala, Fl, 1,500 miles in two days. Restoration so far has been limited to revarnished wood, new top, rebuilt drivetrain, rebuilt overdrive, turn signals, new paint as original, and full exterior chrome.
