This 1967 Alfa Romeo 1600 Duetto was purchased new by Monty Winkler for the purpose of building an SCCA EP race car. The task of building/maintaining this car was handed to legendary Alfa mechanic/driver Peter van der Vate who also co-drove the car on many occasions. This car won many races but in 1968 Winkler set new lap record & won the Saturday race at Lime Rock, then drove all night to start at the back of the pack at Mid-Ohio race the next day when he set new lap record & won. An amazing feet in any car. This car is being presented in 'unrestored' condition, 1968. | |
