This car has had the same owner since it was new; California Metal Shapers (which worked on the Cobra coupe and Scarab) customized the car in the mid 1960s. The car sat in storage for 36 years and emerged in 2008. It was recently returned to its original custom specification and was the subject of a feature in Road & Track magazine. This example is a BN2, the Austin-Healey version that debuted in October 1955. The BN2 was similar to the earlier BN1 in design but had larger drum brakes and a new four-speed overdrive. | |
