Sold for $225,500 at 2006 RM Auctions.
This green-colored 1968 Shelby GT500 KR Fastback is equipped with the Cobra-Jet 428 cubic-inch V8 capable of producing 335 horsepower. It has a C6 automatic transmission and four-wheel disc brakes. It sits atop a 108 inch wheelbase and is suspended by front and rear independent competition suspension with staggered rear shock absorbers. Among the options selected by the original owner were power steering, power brakes, Ram-Air hood, tinted glass, folding rear seats, tilt-away steering column, Traction-Lok rear axle, air conditioning, and 10-spoke 15x7. Judging from the list of options, this was probably not built for the track but rather for road use with creature comforts and lots of power. It has been featured on the cover of Mustang Times and still retains its original body tags.
