The 250F first appeared at the 1954 Argentine Grand Prix driven by Juan Manuel Fangio. This Maserati team car (chassis 2515) won the 1955 Gold Cup at Oulton Park driven by Stirling Moss. In 1956 Stirling won the Italian and Monaco Grand Prix races in his 250F. This year (2009), the Maserati 250F was voted as the greatest race car ever. It was nominated by Sir Stirling Moss, who said 'I have great affection for the 250F because it was the car that gave me my first proper break in Formula One.'
