Chassis Num: LM17

This car with chassis number LM17 is the third member of the team that Aston Martin entered for the 1934 RAC Tourist Trophy race in Ulster. Originally the racing Astons were green but were re-painted red because 'Bert' Bertelli, the Aston Martin boss, thought, in accord with Italian superstitions, that green was an unlucky color. He may have been correct, as the red cars brought home the team prize. The car's current owner, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, races it in historic events.
