The Lincoln Continental Mark II was produced for only a short time, from 1956-1957. In April of 1968, Lincoln introduced the Continental Mark III. It was based on the existing four-door Thunderbird platform and fitted with every available option of the time. Power was from a new 365 horsepower, Ford 460 cubic-inch V8 that drove the 117.2-inch wheelbase. The car was priced at $6,865 making it the most expensive car in Ford's lineup.
The interior was elegant and comfortable, with twin comfort lounge front bench seat and dual center armrests. An optional 'Sure-Track Braking System' was introduced mid-year.
1971 was the final year for the Mark III.
