The Innocenti Spyder S was based on the Austin-Healey Sprite, as it used the same suspension, steering, drivetrain, and engine, but it had a unique body styled by Ghia. It also included some luxuries not seen in the Sprite, such as wind-up windows, larger doors, and external door handles. This car is a Spyder S, introduced in 1963 with a slightly larger engine than the original cars. The engine came from the Mark II Sprite. The S was different cosmetically from the earlier Innocenti Spyders, with a new grille, badging, hubcaps, and interior.
