1952 Cisitalia 202 Sport Convertible

In October 1944, the industrialist and racer Piero Dusio formed Consorzio Industriale Sportiva Italia, or Cisitalia. In 1947 he launched the 4-cylinder, 1100-cc 202 Coupe, designed by renowned engineers Dante Giacosa and Giovanni Savonuzzi, with a simple body from Pinin Farina. Only 153 of these elegant 202 SCs were produced, including a Grand Sport Cabriolet that is in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. A few Spyder versions were constructed as well as a small number of Grand Sport Cabriolet models, which were built by Pinin Farina and Stabilimenti Farina.

This Cisitalia Gran Sport Cabriolet is one of the rare Farina models with an aluminum body over a tubular chassis. This right-hand drive 202 SC Gran Sport was initially purchased by Bruno de Cillia of Austria. It is one of 46 produced and only 29 remaining and even fewer restored to this level. It was later purchased by Mr. Bonnet of Belgium who repainted it and prepared it to participate in the 2012 Mille Miglia. The current owner acquired the all-original, number-matching car in October of 2013 and then competed in the 2014 Mille Miglia. The car was a finalist for the Revs Award from the Stanford University for Historical Significance.
