Sold for $205,000 at 2012 RM Auctions.
The big-block RPO code L71 427 V8 was offered for the first time in 1967. It had three two-barrel carburetors and offered an advertised 435 horsepower. The L71 was a $437.10 option and only 3,754 Corvettes were so equipped of 22,940 total produced that year.

This 427/435 roadster is finished in its original color of Marlboro Maroon with contrasting black convertible top, black interior and black 'stinger.' The car has been given a comprehensive, no-expense-spared body-off restoration and features its original matching-numbers drivetrain which includes the engine, transmission and rear-end. Factory options include dual side-exhaust pipes, power-assisted brakes, tinted windshield and teak steering wheel. The car rides on period-correct redline tires fitted to classic Corvette Rally wheels.

The car has been driven less than 100 miles since its nut-and-bolt restoration completed in 2008.

In 2012, the car was offered for sale at the RM Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was estimated to sell for $225,000-$300,000. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $205,000 inclusive of buyer's premium.
