Chassis Num: 001

This Bizzarrini P538 is the first of the P538 chassis constructed, and carries chassis number 001. During testing, the car was damaged badly and the remains were purchased by an enthusiast after the company entered bankruptcy. It has been restored to original condition and is now powered by a Chevrolet V8 engine that develops 355 horsepower, with the help of four Weber 45 DCOE Carburetors. It has a ZF five-speed manual gearbox and a top speed of 280 km/h.

This car was restored in Europe and then sold to an individual in the United States. It was brought to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 1990 where it was awarded with a Second In Class award. It was shown on numerous occasions and later retired into a private collection in the mid-1990s. The car made a re-appearance in 2005 as part of the Pebble Beach Blackhawk Exposition.
