This Silver Ghost Barker Torpedo was constructed on a London to Edinburgh chassis for R.G. Reed of St. John, Newfoundland. This car luckily survived the confiscations of World War I, wherein almost every Ghost was rebuilt into an armored car. This car survived only because of its Newfoundland location. Discovered by Gord Smith in St. John in the late 1940s, the car was originally restored by Joe Lorey of Cleveland and subsequently driven over 100,000 miles, including five transcontinental tours by Tourmaster Millard Newman. Since 1996, the current owners have driven the car another 100,000 miles across North America and through about 30 states. | |
