Chevrolet expanded its list of available options for 1960 in an effort to become the leader in its class. The plan worked and Chevrolet took over the industry lead and outsold its Ford and Dodge/Plymouth rivals. This 1960 Chevrolet Impala Nomad Six-Passenger Wagon has only 21,000 miles on the odometer. It was originally delivered in Phoenix, Arizona and has had only three owners since new. The car has been given a fresh paint in Ermine White and all of the glass is completely original. The engine has been replaced with a modern 350 cubic-inch Chevrolet motor with a modern 700R4 transmission with overdrive. At the 2009 Houston Classic Auction in Seabrook, Texas, presented by Worldwide Auctioneers, this Impala Nomad Wagon was estimated to sell for $35,000 - $45,000 and offered without reserve. The lot was sold for the sum of $26,000, plus buyer's premium. By Daniel Vaughan | May 2009 | |||||||
