The original owner of this car was Dr. Richard Schantz of Indiana, who purchased it through Snider Motors in Indianapolis, on October 28th of 1960. Dr. Schantz averaged 15,000 miles a year for the first several years of ownership. From 1980 to 1991, Schantz put the car into storage. It was sold to collector Bob Pass in the early 1990s who later sold it to the current owner. The car has 80,100 miles from new, has been accurately restored to like-new condition, has a factory hardtop and disc brakes, and finished in DB050 white with a DB040 black hardtop with red leather interior. In 2008, this 300 SL Roadster was offered for sale at the Gooding & Company auction held in Pebble Beach, California. It was estimated to sell for $600,000 - $700,000. The lot was sold for $594,000 including buyer's premium. By Daniel Vaughan | Mar 2009 | |||||
