1975 Porsche 911 Coupe

The 1973 Carrera RS (RennSport) was the realization that the top-of-the-range 2.4-liter 911S production model had the potential for racing. The lightweight Carrera RS was homologated for racing, with over 500 examples produced to satisfy the FIA homologation thresholds (in total 1,590 units were produced by the time production ended). Weight was reduced by using thinner-gauge metal in its doors, roof, trunk lid, and floors. The Carrera was the company's top-of-the-range model, and a limited number of high-performance lightweight Carreras were produced from 1974 through 1976 for European markets only. These 'Euro Carreras' (as they became known) retained the Type 911/83 2.7-liter, 210 horsepower engine with Bosch mechanical fuel injection (MFI), the same engine as fitted to the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7 homologation special. The tail spoiler was an option, and a Targa version was also offered on the Carrera 2.7 MFI. In total, just 1,647 Euro-spec MFI Carrera Coupes were built during the three-year run, along with 631 Targas. Porsche also offered a US-spec Carrera, but with the inferior CIS K-Jetronic injection system (which had around 50 less horsepower than the Euro-spec model).

This 1975 911 Carrera Coupe was original painted in the special order color of Ice Green Metallic over Black Leatherette. It left the factory with forged alloy Fuchs wheels with Jx15 fronts and 8Jx15 rears (M401), a higher-powered battery (M197), a black headliner (M469), the five-speed gearbox (M481), and tinted glass (M568). Dunlop Tires were fitted on the wide factory Fuchs.

Just 517 'Euro' Carrera Coupes were produced in 1975. This example retains its original 2.7-liter MFI engine. It has spare wheels and a spare key.

The car was in single ownership for nearly two decades in Southern California. In 2012, a thorough cosmetic restoration was performed, during which it was painted in the period Porsche factory color of Lime Green.
